DECISION

You may never understand
my decision any more
than I can explain it
but I hope one day you
will believe it came
from a place of deep
love--for me, for you
for us. I hope one day
you will believe
I was thinking about you,
about your good, that I wasn't
being selfish, that I care/d
about how your heart
would fare, how you
would feel...
in hindsight I would
have talked with you first
but I hope one day
you'll believe that--even
though I didn't--I cared
deeply about you
all the way
